About Dr. Ayesha Zahurullah

Midwest Dental is introducing Dr. Ayesha Zahurullah to the Rockford community. Dr. Zahurullah joined the team at the Midwest Dental office located on 7th Street in downtown Rockford in June 2017.
After providing patient care in the Chicago area for seven years, Dr. Zahurullah had the opportunity to move to Rockford and be closer to family. In addition to being able to see her brother and his family more often, she loves getting to know Rockford and its residents.
“I like the smallness of the Rockford community,” she said. “Even though it is a large community, people know each other here. They know if you’re new to town and they have been so welcoming to me.”
Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, Dr. Zahurullah knew she wanted to work with people. She also excelled in the sciences, so that helped shape her career path.
“I knew medicine wasn’t what I wanted for myself, and Information Technology was very popular at the time when I was in school but that wasn’t right for me either,” Dr. Zahurullah said. “Dentistry sounded like a perfect fit.”
Dr. Zahurullah took the fast track to her career, enrolling in a six year program at University of Detroit Mercy and graduating from University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2009 at the age of 23. “If you know what you want to do, you want to get going,” she said. “Now the more I practice, the more I enjoy being a dentist. I love seeing my patients every day.”
Her people skills come in handy too, helping her connect with patients and ease their worries about visiting the dentist. She has a lot of experience seeing children, and loves having the whole family coming to the practice.
“I believe I have the ability to form relationships with my patients,” Dr. Zahurullah said. “I want them to know I care about their well-being and their oral health. My team and I want them to be comfortable and provide them with a good experience in our office.”
