Amazing! I don't even know where to begin. The entire staff, and I mean the entire staff at Midwest Dental, are the most amazing, caring, professional individuals you could ever encounter. I personally have had some bad and so so experiences with dentists over my 44 years but Midwest Dental completely blow everyone else out of the water. Absolutely no discomfort with any of my procedures so far and one of them was a crown. He even fixed a discolored tooth from a repair I had done back in my late teens that had discolored to a nasty yellow. 2 other dentists told me I needed thousands of dollars in crowns, he literally polished it up and it looks perfect. THANK YOU!!!

I’m very pleased with the dental care I have received from Dr. Short and his entire staff!! I started out with cleanings, then I needed two crowns, upper and lower, and had retainers made, upper and lower!!! Taylor was fantastic about scheduling all of the different appointments, and was great about calling when there was a cancellation which allowed me to complete the process sooner!!! All of the technicians were wonderful! They did careful, exact work which helped ensure that everything fit perfectly when it was completed. Dr. Short was kind and considerate when he was doing the necessary drilling etc., and always communicated what he was doing, so I knew what to expect. I really appreciated how well he worked with his staff, and he always treated everyone with respect. I was not able to pay in full for all of services at the first appointment, and they were very understanding as I paid in increments. I would highly recommend Dr. Short at Midwest Dental in Belvidere, IL.

Such good care! Helena the hygienist is excellent at what she does and explains everything to you both before and as she does it. Dr. Short explained my situation to me in detail. He and Helena make a great care team. They take the most x-rays I have ever had done in a single visit. Clearly they value precision. He picked up on 3 separate issues my former dentist did not. Add to all that the cordial, attentive front desk experience and I am calling this place my new home. If you're in Rockford like I am, don't hesitate to switch dentists - the drive (20 mins) is so worth it. Small office with excellent communication all around. This place is gold.

I have been going to Midwest Dental since November 2022. I went in with a golf ball size abscess on the roof of my mouth, it was horribly painful and quite disturbing to look at, Dr. Delfs walked by and I heard her say I can help her. She came in and explained what she would do. I told her I always get dry sockets and my teeth don't come out easy and in pieces. Well she said she has tricks for dry sockets and she did! I'm not saying it wasn't painful because there's no way it wouldn't be but so far she has pulled all my top teeth and we will start on bottom next week. So far no dry sockets. Dr. Delfs is my hero. The first day Arial assisted and made me feel so comfortable. I can't say I look forward to a visit to the dentist but I'm confident that they will take care of me. I love my care team at Midwest dental in Belvidere! I can't wait till I have teeth and can smile for a picture lil

I tried to establish as a new patient. I was patient and understanding waiting months for a first visit. They called night before to cancel 2 visits in a row. Then when I failed to see and return a confirmation, for third attempted first visit, they cancelled my visit and refused to understand or compromise. Called Midwest dental in an emergency, they politely figured out my situation got me in for an X-ray right away to check out my gums. Even got a same day cleaning by Kathy. Needless too say I was satisfied with the humor of the staff, effeteness, cleanliness and the fact that I felt cared for <3. We stopped going to this dentist because the hygienist didn't honor our request for no fluoride (on your kid's teeth). It was bizarre how she snuck it in after we asked for none. When I went to a new dentist, within 6mo-1year of not going to midwest, the new dentist found borderline gingivitis (with some bone loss) and 4 cavities! The hygienist was very thorough with the cleaning and yet there wasn't much bleeding (I should really floss more). The front desk person did a great job of explaining my insurance benefits for the porcelain cap I need to replace (my previous dentist, from Rockford, was not good, it stayed on a year and almost a half... She was out of business when I went to get it replaced). The dentist was thorough with his check and examination and also, something I appreciate, humorous. We also discussed travel, another topic I enjoy.

The only reason that I will return is because of Kathy the hygienist. I will not see the dentist again. My dealing with the dentist is that I was sitting in the chair, back to the door, when he came in and said hello and shook my hand from behind. No face to face contact at all. He had me lie back, he picked at 4 teeth, said to clean around crowns, and left. He charged $50 for less than 1 minute of contact. He is very unprofessional to his clients.

Dr. Joe Karpiak and his office has an exceptional practice and is second to none in customer service. From the moment I walked in, I was treated like family with friendly staff and told me exactly what to expect for my visit. After my cleaning, Dr. Joe came in and clearly explained his diagnosis and future visit expectations in common language, no medical jargon. He also fixed a chip on a tooth in the back of my mouth and I couldnt even tell he did anything! He has a very fine attention to detail and perfection for his patients. gave me an exam, recommended me for a "deep cleaning" that was over $1000, of which I would have had to pay $300 out of pocket. When I said no, just give me a regular cleaning, Dr. Joe refused because he had already "diagnosed" me for a deep cleaning. Oh, he had his assistant deliver all this news. What a racket. If you looking for an honest dentist, skip over Midwest Dental.

I needed a new dentist, so I looked at my coverage and saw these guys and looked them up. They have a 5 star rating so I decided to call them. First call didn't get answered, that's ok I understand they were probably busy. I called a while later and the phone call got answered but the person on the other end hung up probably half a second later. I also went online to get an appointment, I got the email saying they got it. I never received a call. That being said I won't be trying to go here any more. I called a different office and they picked up the call first ring, and I was able to get an appointment no hassle. Midwest dental was closer to both work and home. Awful customer service.
