About Dr. Beth Hagen

November 9, 2017

Midwest Dental is welcoming Dr. Beth Hagen to their office and introducing her to the Lincoln community. Dr. Hagen joined Dr. Addison Lentz and the team at the Midwest Dental office located on McLean Street in July 2017.

Dr. Hagen is very accustomed to small town Illinois, growing up only an hour away in Sullivan, IL. She loves how similar Lincoln is to her hometown.

“It feels just like home to me,” she said. “Our dental office is located on the corner of our town square in Lincoln. Growing up my parents owned a pharmacy right on the corner of Sullivan’s town square.  It’s so coincidental and it just makes me feel like I am where I am supposed to be!”

Being that her parents were both pharmacists, medicine is something that runs in Dr. Hagen’s family. At one point she even worked as a pharmacy technician at their pharmacy. But she didn’t see herself following the exact same path as her parents.

Dr. Hagen always knew she wanted to work in the medical field and after shadowing a dentist, her path became clear. “I loved seeing the dentist’s interactions with people,” she said. “I wanted to do something where I could get to know people and build a relationship with them while being able to help them achieve good health.”

After deciding on dentistry, Dr. Hagen attended University of Illinois and received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. For the past year and a half, Dr. Hagen has been providing temporary care with Midwest Dental in locations around Wisconsin. But the plan was always to come back home to Illinois.

Now permanently providing care in Lincoln, Dr. Hagen prides herself on treating everyone like family. “I want to connect with my patients on a personal level,” she said, “I like to give my patients options and I want them to feel that they are getting a say in their care.”

When Dr. Hagen isn’t working she enjoys relaxing with art. She likes to paint, sketch, and work with ceramics. She is also very excited to become involved with the Lincoln community and the surrounding areas through participating in local events as well as joining the dental society in the area.

Midwest Dental Lincoln is open Monday through Friday with evening appointments available after 5:00 p.m. Dr. Hagen, Dr. Lentz and the Midwest Dental team are now accepting new patients of all ages. They can be reached at (217) 735-5531 or online at midwest-dental.com/lincoln.
