About Dr. Megan Oldridge

August 28, 2018

This spring, Midwest Dental welcomed Dr. Megan Oldridge to their dental office located at 2960 Triverton Pike Drive in Fitchburg.

Dr. Megan, as patients call her, is originally from Chatham, IL near Springfield. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee where she studied Biomedical Sciences and Spanish for the Health Professions. She then went on to earn her dental degree at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. She provided dental care in Springfield for a few years before joining Midwest Dental and moving back to Wisconsin.

Becoming a dentist was the plan since Dr. Megan was 10 years old. Having braces is almost a rite of passage at that age and Dr. Megan joined the middle school ranks with braces of her own. Perhaps surprisingly, that experience really sparked her interest in dentistry.

“When I had braces, I loved seeing the process of transforming someone’s smile and the impact that can have,” Dr. Megan said. She knew then that she wanted to be able to help people in the same way. She also learned Spanish so she could help even more people receive the dental care they need.

Now as a dentist, she lives by the Golden Rule and strives to treat her patients the way she would want to be treated. “I have found that honesty, compassion, and a little laughter can go a long way,” she said.

Moving to the Fitchburg practice was a no-brainer for Dr. Megan and her husband. She said she feels like they can really settle down and plant roots here. The size of the Fitchburg community allows her to get to know patients on a more personal level, and for them to get to know her.

“As I am getting to know the Madison area, I have especially loved seeing all the community festivals,” she said. “Our team was able to participate in Fitchburg Days in May and it was a fun experience getting to meet great people.”
