I had a great experience!!! The receptionist was very friendly and I was quickly in the dental chair. I felt I got a great checkup and it was in words I could understand. I have never had the dentist actually clean the tarter of my teeth!!! My teeth look and feel so great and as he used a new tool, my mouth was not sore afterwards. I was very pleased with this outcome!!! The hygienist did a great job also! I should have asked him about what I can do with the hole in my mouth since I have had 2 teeth extracted! I wonder what the òptions are? Thanks so much for the great checkup and 1st appt.

I had such a great visit to Midwest Dental today that I wanted to update my review to reiterate how great this place is. Dr. Walker sees my 5 year old now, and she gets excited to go to her exams. I have never had a bad experience here, and I have complete trust in the team. Midwest Dental of Cedar Falls, IA, is by far the best dental experience I've had. I came in very nervous as I hadn't been to the dentist in 3+ years due to a bad experience at the last office I had been to. I needed a lot of fillings, and rather than making me feel bad, Dr. Walker and the rest of the staff made me feel very cared for and were so patient. It really means a lot to have compassionate professionals who make you feel comfortable. Dr. Walker is also quite humorous--you will not have a boring visit. I recommend Midwest Dental for everyone!

I was very disappointed with my previous dentists and decided to try this office. I cannot express enough how great this practice is! They are all so upbeat and kind. I had a temporary crown put on at Christmas time and it came off. We found glue and tried to fix the problem. I had pain in my mouth I had never experienced and Dr. was on vacation for the week. I came into the office to make an appointment ASAP and Kim actually called Dr. Spencer to talk to him and next thing I know he is coming in to see me on his vacation! I went to an appointment with them for the first time for a checkup, they told me that I needed a lot of things that instead of making me feel good, they made me feel uncomfortable. Plus, I didn't like that they didn't tell me that I had to pay after they did the processes. I found out. When I finished they told me you have to pay 127 dollars now and the other 127 when we finish the other part and another thing that surprised me was that a process that can be done in one day they told me that they did it in 2 parts, first a part of the tooth then the other and if you ever visit this dentist be prepared to pay because if you don't pay they won't treat you

I’d give Dr. Walker 10 stars if I could. If anyone has had dental anxiety in the past at other providers, I highly suggest you see Dr. Walker at Midwest Dental in Cedar Falls. I have had issues with getting numb before dental procedures for many years and other providers always blew me off. When you have to go though a crown and root canal with dental anesthetic not working, it’s kind of a big deal. Dr. Walker figured out why this was happening and was able to get me numb with no problems for my crown. It appears that I have a rare nerve anatomy and Dr. Walker discovered it. I can’t thank you enough for listening to my concerns and figuring out what the issue was. Everyone at this dental office is professional and very nice. Kim at the front desk is always very helpful with any questions that I have and Diane is a super great hygienist!

This is the butcher CROWNS clinic! Board of dentists should investigate you Dr. Walker. Dr Walker all what he wants to do is CROWNS.Eventhough he is is excellent in placing crowns. He wants to put crowns when its not necessarily needed. For sure to make more $$$.When 3 other dentists told me I don't need crown Dr walker insisted on a crown. How childish you are Dr. walker. Dr. Walker the grumpy doesn't allow second opinion. He told his staff he cannot see me anymore because I went to a different clinic for another opinion. You stay nice and super chatty and you threaten all your patients with root canals until you hear a “no “for your crowns!?? You become grumpy and unprofessional! If you say you prefer another option he suddenly become the grumpiest dr and ignores whatever you say. He chooses to keep patients that listen to his recommendations for crowns all the way. If you care about your teeth avoid Dr. Walker.

I had a fear of the dentist office after a previous dental fail. When I needed an emergency root canal Midwest Dental was suggested. When I called Kim was so pleasant and understanding. She didn’t think twice to tell me to come right on in. Dr. Walker was excellent and was very patient with me after he heard of my previous dental experience. I was told I needed three cavities filled and also recommended a crown. I visited another office in town for a second opinion. To my surprise the dentist said he didn’t see anything that needed to be fixed. I said are you sure because the dentist at Midwest went into great detail w/ pictures explaining the work I needed done. The dentist reassured me that my teeth were in good health. I had another check up 6 months later in the same office with a different dentist and again no cavities, no need for any dental work. So I have had two separate professional opinions to disprove the recommendation I was given at Midwest. I would not recommend this office!

I have been with the dentist about a year now, and beside the regular check up, I had a broken tooth that 'received' a crown (a dental crown) few months ago. The whole experience has been great, and one of the aspect that I liked is that I got a detailed -out of pocket- expenses that I needed. I believe that most of the dental plan has a cap in any type of work, and knowing upfront what I need to have was very helpful to plan myself. I totally agree with other reviewer that the staff is very capable and nice.

I was in town on business and cracked a tooth in half. I went down the list of dentists near me and they were the ONLY ones to fit me in for an emergency appointment. I then explained that I needed a fix that would last at least a week as i was travelling more after i left Cedar Falls. They kept me longer, ordered me a crown and got it installed the next day without hesitation. The caring and professionalism shown by both the Doctor and his staff is unparalleled and I will go back in a heartbeat if i ever have a dental need in Cedar Falls.

Quick to get daughter in for impacted wisdom teeth. Great state of the art equipment, doctor explains in detail. Fabulous staff. The doctor missed the boat with me, my daughter is in a lot of pain with swelling and a rash after about a week of penicillin. His lack of concern or taking me seriously, really turned me away from ever returning. He's knowledgeable but when a parent is expressing we have a problem, take it seriously. I did receive a call after I left, but really why not address a solution while I was there. I needed quite a bit of work. I totally agreed with him, but what happens if I have an infection or reaction, I want a doctor to take me seriously.

UPDATE: They did refund me $800+, so I'll give them a star for that. It seemed like every time I got treated by Dr. Walker, I ended up spending over $1,000 than I was initially quoted. I also felt like I was getting lectured on every random thing that came to his mind, including far-right politics that might have come from Trump himself - as if I needed to be taught about these things because he's a doctor and I'm a lowly patient. Overall, my impression is basically that this is a young, and immature, dentist who seriously needs to learn self-restraint, on many levels.
