The dental care itself was great. My experience with the front office was not. Twice now I received an estimate for work that was wildly inaccurate. This last time I was told it would be $103. I asked both the hygienist and the receptionist if this had been run through my insurance and was told that it had. My total after my appointment was $294. When I questioned it I was told that the estimate was a generic one. I explained that I had been assured that the estimate was from my insurance. They really didn't have an answer for me. The office manager told me that it was my responsibility to know what was covered by my insurance. I told her I did know that the white amalgam was not covered, which is why I asked repeatedly if the estimate was from my insurance. I am very disappointed in the whole situation and don't think I will be back. As I said this is the second time this has happened. I did have one visit in between the two when they got it right, so I had hope that the issue was fixed. Apparently not.

Lisa was very rude and condescending to us. We were customers for over ten years; Midwest Dental overcharged us. Lisa was very rude and condescending when we tried to enquire about the overcharge; she wouldn't even entertain our questions on why we were overcharged when the insurance should have covered the visit as it's a regular cleaning visit, she threatened to send it to collections, so we made the payment immediately before we had a chance to enquire with the insurance. In the end, after following up with the insurance, it turned out that it was a mistake in Midwest's billing system, and we don't owe them anything; the insurance confirmed this and sent us the eob showing $0 as patient responsibility. Midwest finally admitted the mistake and told us that they would refund the overcharged amount. We are waiting for the refund from Midwest Dental. We have canceled all our appointments with Midwest Dental after this horrible experience; our family will find a new provider who is nice and kind to their customers.

I only switched dentist as was with mine for 30+ years as they no longer took my insurance. At my first visits with Midwest dental I was told I need a crown since prior tooth had root canal to be safe. That was in 2019 and now 2021 nothing has happened to my tooth and still getting told every visit that need to get a crown. My tooth has been fine for 10+ years with how previous dentist fixed it. It’s shocking that as soon as switched told how bad it is. I am currently looking elsewhere for Dentist as truly not satisfied . They also called me on my last negative review (which should be kept private) asking me to change it and why I said I didn’t like them. Umm that’s not professional at all.

As a result, I got robocalls weekly for what seemed like a year. I mention that because as annoying as it was, I do feel like they look out for my best interests. I've been seeing Dr. Olson for over 10 years now. Nobody likes going to the dentist but she always makes it a good experience; always does good work. I definitely recommend her. I understand others billing concerns. Their estimates are generally higher than what it finally comes out to be (it's understandable they won't have every nuance of every insurance plan until the claim gets processed.) If anyone's concerned about the out of pocket bill vs. what insurance will pay for restoration work, just have them submit a pre-treatment estimate to your insurance company and you'll know exactly how billing will work out ahead of time.

Not a good experience this time, I went there for routine dental check-up(x-rays, bitewings etc.), I did check with them 2-3 times before going to hospital whether they are participating in-network or not for Metlife. Their office staff confirmed that they are in-network for metlife regardless of the Doctor I see so I got the x-rays done there. To my surprise, metlife processed the claim in out of network mode and charged me.Metlife customer support strongly saying they are not in-network, you guys should have told me these things when I called for appointment.

I had a filling done about a year ago. It never felt right so I went in to get it redone by another dentist. He had to redo the simple filling 3 times! After an hour of laying there my anesthetic was wearing off and I told him I was in pain. He did not give me anymore lidocaine, just told me "the lidocane is wearing off because of how many times i had to redo it". At the end, he told me it was finally right and rushed me out of the office because it was the end of the day and he had a chiropractor appointment to get to. He didn't even ask me if it felt right or if i thought it needed to be adjusted. Nonetheless, I won't be going back.

I am so glad we found this dental office when we moved to Eagan in 2008. We had left an awesome dental practice in Atlanta, that we truly loved, and thought we could never find anything remotely similar. Whereas Midwest Dental is smaller and more "quaint," I am impressed by the level of individual attention. The receptionist never has to ask one's name, the hygienists take a personal interest in the people they serve, and the dentists do a very thorough exam (not just a 30 second "everything looks good" type of thing). They are also sensitive about accommodating one's scheduling demands and treat everyone as an important person (not "patient"). Highly recommend!

My husband, two sons and I switched to Midwest Dental in Eagan this week. We were very happy with the service we received. Everyone was so personable and friendly. The office was very comfortable, tidy and well-equiped. The staff put us all at ease, especially my youngest son. When we came home he asked me, "Mom, why are people afraid to go to the Dentist? It was no big deal!" Thank you Midwest Dental!

Midwest is one stop shop for our family. Recently, I took my toddler for a regular visit. The experience was wonderful. Ms. Amy, the Hygienist handled my kid very well throughout the process and I didn't have any challenge with kid's cooperation. I have been a patient at Midwest Dental for over a year. I had many childhood experiences with the dentist that left me more than wary at the thought of seeing a new dentist! I see Amy as my hygienist, I love her! She is thorough and has a touch that doesn't make me leap out of her chair. She does the exam of my gums efficiently and without pain! Amy treated me today with deep scaling for periodontal disease and it didn't hurt at all. I can say that I have never been pain free during this procedure before at my previous dental office! I also had to have a large filling removed and started the crown process. This procedure was also pain free. I saw Dr. Cahow. Everyone at the office is friendly, respectful and informative. I am always given a treatment plan that explains the procedures and associated costs before I plan my dental work. I heartily recommend everyone in this office!
