I needed to find a new dentist as my old dentist retired after 30 years of caring for me. Midwest dental seemed like a good choice. Called for an appointment which I could get in the next day. I had to choose one two weeks later as I was getting over a cold. Great location, looks nice and clean from the street, interior clean and pleasing, it had a good feel. Professional friendly staff. Complete health history insurance information taken. Verified that Dr Schrad was preferred provider. Tech started taking X rays and I informed her I had X-rays 8 mos. earlier. She continued took full set of X rays said we’ll just eat the cost. Dr Schrad did a through exam then informed me I needed $3700 of cosmetic work which my insurance will not pay. I did not hear back from them until I got a bill on May 21 stating my insurance has responded to all claims and I’m responsible to pay in full. I waited and waited never receive EOB. I call BCBS they said they have never received a claim from Midwest Dental. I called talked to the Office Patient Care Coordinator she would resend the claim but for some reason the was sent to Camp Hill, PA. Which was denied because they don’t deal with Iowa patients. Next person I talked to was the Office Manager. She didn’t know what was going on. Services were paid on June 13, 2025. However I continue to receive bills for the full amount on July 2, 2025. Not sure what to do now. I am too old to deal with this mess and will choose someone else.
