Dental Veneers
Dental veneers can transform your smile. They’re a popular choice for those seeking cosmetic dental improvements in .
But what exactly are dental veneers? How much do veneers cost? What are the benefits of veneers?
Whether you’re considering veneers or just curious about them, we’ll offer comprehensive information below. Let’s explore the world of dental veneers in .
Understanding Dental Veneers
Dental veneers are a cosmetic dentistry solution designed to enhance your smile. They’re thin shells, typically made from porcelain or composite resin, that a cosmetic dentist bonds to the front of your teeth.
Veneers can address various dental issues, such as discoloration, worn down teeth, chipped or broken teeth, misaligned or irregularly shaped teeth, and gaps between teeth.
Types of Dental Veneers
Two main types of dental veneers are available: porcelain and composite resin. Porcelain veneers are highly resistant to stains and mimic natural teeth’s light-reflecting properties. They’re also durable and can last up to 15 years with proper care.
On the other hand, composite resin veneers are less expensive, but they’re also not as durable as porcelain and only last 5-7 years. That said, a cosmetic dentist can repair composite resin veneers if you damage them.
Porcelain Veneers: Stain-resistant, durable, and long-lasting.
Composite Resin Veneers: Less expensive, repairable, and shorter lifespan.
Benefits of Choosing Veneers
Choosing dental veneers has several benefits.
First, they provide a natural tooth appearance and are well tolerated by gum tissue.
Veneers also offer a conservative approach to changing a tooth’s color and shape. They don’t require the extensive shaping thatdental crowns do, yet they’re stronger and better mimic natural teeth. With veneers , you can achieve a bright, confident smile that lasts.
The Process of Getting Dental Veneers in
Getting dental veneers in typically involves two to three visits to the dentist. The process is straightforward but requires careful planning and execution to ensure the best results.
The first step is a consultation and then you’ll move to the preparation and application phases.
Initial Consultation and Customization
The initial consultation is a crucial part of the veneer process. It’s a chance for you to express your aesthetic goals and for the dentist to evaluate your oral health. The dentist will also discuss the types of veneers available and their respective advantages.
During this visit, the dentist may use digital imaging or mock-ups to preview the potential results of veneers. This helps set clear expectations and ensures the result aligns with your goals.
Preparation and Application
The preparation phase involves removing a small amount of enamel from the tooth surface to ensure a proper fit for the veneers. The dentist then takes an impression of your teeth, which they send to a dental lab to create your custom veneers.
Once the veneers are ready, the dentist bonds them to your teeth using a special cement. The dentist will make any necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit and a natural look. The result is a beautiful, long-lasting smile.
Cost and Insurance Considerations
One key consideration when planning this procedure is the cost of dental veneers . The price of dental veneerscan vary based on several factors, including the type of veneer, the number of teeth being treated, and the dental practice.
It’s also important to understand that many dental insurance companies consider dental veneers a cosmetic procedure, so they may not be covered by dental insurance.
How Much Do Dental Veneers Cost?
The cost of dental veneers in , can range from several hundred to a few thousand dollars per tooth. Porcelain veneers are generally more expensive than composite resin veneers due to their durability and natural appearance.
It’s also worth noting you may incur additional costs for procedures related to the application of veneers, such as teeth preparation or follow-up visits. So, it’s crucial to discuss all potential costs with your dentist during the consultation to avoid surprises.
Does Dental Insurance Cover Dental Veneers?
As mentioned earlier, dental insurance typically won’t cover dental veneers because they’re a cosmetic procedure. However, coverage can vary greatly depending on your specific insurance plan, so it’s a good idea to check with your insurance provider to understand what is and isn’t covered.
If your insurance doesn’t cover the cost of veneers, don’t worry. Midwest Dental has flexible payments options, including:
Credit cards:We accept all major credit cards as payment.
Care Credit:We also accept Care Credit, which often offers special financing for dental procedures.
In-House Financing:We also offer in-house financing so you can get your dental veneers now and spread the payments out over several months.
Choosing the Right Dentist for Your Veneers Near You
Selecting the right dentist for your veneers near you is a crucial step in the process. The success of your dental veneers largely depends on the dentist’s skill and experience.
It’s important to do your research and choose a dentist who has a proven track record with dental veneers. Look for a dentist who is transparent about the procedure, costs, and potential outcomes.
What to Look for in a Cosmetic Dentist
You should consider several factors when choosing a cosmetic dentist for your veneers near you.
First, the dentist’s experience and training in dental veneers is paramount. Ask about their specific training and how many veneer procedures they have performed.
Second, consider the dentist’s approach to patient care. They should be willing to discuss your goals, answer your questions, and explain the procedure in detail. You should also check out their reviews and testimonials from previous patients, as these can provide valuable insight into their experiences. Remember, your smile is in their hands, so choose wisely.

Maintaining Your Dental Veneers
Once you have your new dental veneers, it’s important to take good care of them. Just like your natural teeth, veneers require regular brushing and flossing. Although veneers resist staining, maintaining good oral hygiene can help keep them looking their best.
Avoid habits that can damage your veneers, such as biting your nails or chewing on hard objects. Regular dental checkups are also crucial, as these allow your dentist to monitor the condition of your veneers and address any issues early on.
Long-Term Care and Maintenance
Long-term care for your dental veneers involves more than just daily brushing and flossing. It’s important to have regular dental checkups to ensure your veneers and natural teeth are in good condition. Your dentist can also professionally clean your veneers to maintain their shine and appearance.
Remember, proper care can extend the lifespan of your veneers. To help maintain their color, avoid certain foods and drinks that can stain them, such as coffee and red wine.
With the right care and maintenance, your dental veneers can provide a beautiful smile for many years.

Merit dental & Dr Silva became my dentist, when my dentist retired.
I mentioned this to Dr. Silva, I told him whitening products were of no help. So he had the bright idea of replacing the veneer with a darker color veneer and they would match. So he did and it made a world of difference. Thank you Dr Silva, you are amazing. Also has helped me with dry mouth conditions . Merit has a win, win with Dr Silva

I cannot recommend Dr. Krosser and the entire staff at Mondovi Dental enough! I’ve been a very satisfied client since 2018 when I moved from NYC. I have a lot of dental issues - implants, crowns, veneers…and I’ve always felt I was in the best hands! Most recently I had my 20+ year old veneers replaced and they’re absolutely beautiful! The process was painless, fast and easy from start to finish. I’m extremely happy with my smile.
My experience with Dr. Jenna at Merit Dental in Waterford was nothing short of an exceptional experience. I went into to get prepped for veneers and Dr. Jenna explained the process in great detail and described exactly what I could expect from the procedure. Even though she is young, Dr. Jenna is operating at a level far beyond her years in the field - I would (and have) recommend her to everyone I know!
I've been a patient at Midwest Dental in Eagan for years and have experienced nothing but kindness. The staff and hygienists are wonderful and Dr. Aldrich is patient and helpful. I felt so lucky to have their team working on my veneers. Dr. Aldrich and Carrie helped to make that an easy, successful experience!
Was a new patient due to a Huge chip in my front tooth. They got me in the next day...new patient exam, x rays, they did a cleaning, he fixed my tooth Plus he took extra time to make a molding for me to come back in 2 wks to put the veneer over that tooth !! Above and beyond what I had expected. Everyone in the office was super nice. I am so glad I choose to go to Midwest.
In 1997, my previous dentist had suggested crowning a troublesome tooth that lost fillings. I had many teeth with multiple fillings- some with so many fillings that there was no longer enough tooth left to properly anchor them. A crown on the tooth could solve this problem.
The dentist said I could crown my other teeth later, as each became a problem.
While mulling over the crown idea, my insurance changed and that dentist was no longer in the network. A relative recommended Dr. Latvis.
Dr John Latvis (Dr Chris’s father) noticed that I had ground down all my teeth (bruxism). He said if I crowned just one tooth, it would have to be made shorter than its ideal cosmetic length in order to match the height of my remaining ground-down teeth. Eventually, as my other teeth needed crowns, I would end up with a mouthful of short teeth and a scrunched-up looking face.
As an alternative, Dr John suggested that if I did all my teeth at once, all the crowns could be made long enough to restore my proper facial height. That made sense to me.
Why put up with the drill-and-fill if I had a better option.
So during the summer of 1998, I opted for a full set of crowns. Dr John placed me in the able hands of his son, Dr Chris. With meticulous precision, Dr Chris crafted a set of crowns that have served me nearly flawlessly for 20 years and counting.
Over those 20 years-
- I lost ONE crowned molar. It had an old deep pocket that developed an abscess.
- I had ONE cavity. It was in the one molar that didn’t need a crown.
- TWO veneers on my front teeth fell off at different times (while I was eating soft food- honest!). Dr Chris re-did each of those veneers to wrap around the tooth for a better grip. They’ve been problem-free since.
20 years of pain-free teeth. No more dreaded drilling. I can eat what I want. No more ouch from biting into sour apples, drinking hot coffee or eating cold ice cream.
I do take care of my teeth now, which I obviously didn’t do as a kid. As soon as I had the crowns, Dr Chris made sure I had a tooth guard to wear at night- and I do wear it. I brush and floss every day. Twice a year, I’m in for a cleaning and checkup.
I smile a lot now. I hope that your experience with Dr. Latvis and his staff will be as great as mine has been.
I was supposed to do this review long time ago, and here it goes. When I was in my late 50s, I was playing with the idea of having a face lift, or some kind of cosmetic change (not that I desperately needed) but I definitely wanted to improve my image. I have been always very conscious about my dental hygiene, but the idea of the face lift was still in the first place. I just wanted to celebrate my 60s showing less aging signs. Well, one day, one of my front tooth chipped and, immediately I went shopping por dentistry. I was looking around Valatie, NY. I found a general dentistry practice , I was examined, but I found, what they were offering to me as a fix, wasn't complete, or something didn't convinced me at all. On my way out, somebody from the practice, recommended Dr. David Starkman. I remember she said: he is a dentist and he does cosmetics works as well. The best decision ever! The consultation and interview, (yes, he wants to know you and you need to know him) was great. He offered me not only repairing or fixing the tooth, he explained some alternatives, and one of them became to be the winner for my 60 years birthday! My choice was having Veneers on my four front teeth, but I ended having more done. He helped me finding the right color, whIch I had forgotten I had. With the whitening gel and trays, at home, I achieved the real white, my original white! I learned about the process, and I finally ended with a mouth over, or mouth lift! That's exactly what I needed, not a face lift! I have always said: your smile is the light of your soul! I am so happy still, with the work of art, Dr. Starkman did. Among all these achievements, I always enjoyed a a friendly ambiance, a courteous staff, and a professional and compassionate doctor. Thank you so much Dr. Starkman.
I have been going here for about 2 years since we moved to Myerstown. I had an amazing recommendation and I have always been happy with their work and procedures. I even referred my boyfriend to go and they helped him get beautiful Veneers on his top 4 teeth because they've always been crooked. Now he smiles all the time, especially for pictures- before he never would. I have an awful genetic gum recession and I always love and request Liz to do my cleanings. She got me on the right track and right regimens to help me slow and stop my gum recession so I possibly won't have to get surgery. I can't thank her enough. All the doctors we've ever seen have been wonderful and the staff is kind and courteous in explaining charges. I will go here as long as I can!
Dr Levy and his staff were fantastic and my experience was great. They were very timely, made me feel extremely comfortable and they did an incredible job on my veneers. I would highly recommend Dr Levy for any dental work.
