But what all is involved in getting a dental implant , what are the benefits to it, and how do you find the best implant dentist to handle the procedure, and what do dental implants cost?
To help you better understand dental implants, we’ll cover all those questions and more. We’ll even show you how to find affordable dental implants. Now, let’s dive in.
Understanding Dental Implants and Their Benefits
Dental implants are a popular solution for replacing missing teeth. They are artificial tooth roots, typically made of titanium, that provide a strong foundation for fixed or removable replacement teeth.
Dental implants have numerous benefits, including:
Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth. They are designed to fuse with bone, becoming permanent.
They improve your speech. Unlike dentures, implants won’t slip in your mouth, causing you to mumble or slur your words.
Dental implants are durable and can last many years. With good care, many implants last a lifetime.
They make eating easier. Dental implants function like natural teeth, allowing you to eat your favorite foods confidently and without pain.
Choosing dental implants can significantly enhance your quality of life. They offer a comfortable and long-term solution for tooth loss, contributing to improved oral health and a boost in self-confidence.
The Importance of Choosing a Qualified Implant Dentist
Choosing the right implant dentist is crucial for a successful dental implant procedure. The dentist’s experience, skills, and knowledge significantly influence the treatment’s outcome.
A qualified implant dentist should have extensive training and experience in implant dentistry. They should be able to demonstrate a track record of successful dental implant procedures . It’s also important that they stay updated with the latest advancements in dental implant technology and techniques.
In addition to technical skills, a good implant dentist should have excellent communication skills and be able to clearly explain the procedure, risks, and benefits to you. They should also be patient, understanding, and ready to answer all your questions and address your concerns.
Lastly, consider the dentist’s reputation. Look for reviews and testimonials from previous patients. A dentist with positive reviews and high patient satisfaction rates will likely provide quality care and successful results.

Factors Influencing Dental Implants Cost
The cost of dental implants near you can vary widely. Several factors influence the final price you’ll pay for this life-changing procedure. Understanding these factors can help you plan your budget and make informed decisions.
One of the main factors is the number of implants you need. If you need multiple implants, the cost will naturally be higher. The implant’s location in your mouth can also affect the cost, as placing implants in certain areas may require more complex procedures, thus increasing the price.
The type of implant and the materials used also affect the cost. High-quality materials like titanium and zirconia, which are durable and biocompatible, may cost more than other options. However, they often provide the best long-term results.
You may also need additional procedures, such as bone grafting or sinus lifts, which can add to the cost. These procedures are sometimes necessary to prepare your mouth for the implants and ensure their success.
Some factors that influence the cost of dental implants near you include:
Number of implants needed
Location of the implants
Type of implant and materials used
Need for additional procedures
Dentist’s experience and expertise
What Does the Average Dental Implant Cost?
The cost of a single dental implant near you can range widely based on your case. It’s also important to note that the cost of a dental implant generally does not include any additional procedures you may need, such as bone grafting or a sinus lift. Your dentist will bill these separately.
It’s best to consult with the qualified implant dentists near you at Midwest Dental for a personalized quote.
Additional Costs to Consider for Dental Implants
When considering dental implants, it’s crucial to understand the implant itself is not the only cost. You may need several additional procedures and services that can add to the overall cost.
For instance, you may require a tooth extraction before the implant procedure. This is common if the tooth is damaged or decayed beyond repair. The cost of extraction can vary, but it’s an important factor to consider.
Additionally, some patients may require a bone graft or sinus lift. You’ll need these procedures if your jawbone isn’t thick enough or there’s insufficient bone height in the upper jaw. These procedures can significantly increase the total cost of getting dental implants.
Lastly, don’t forget about the cost of the initial consultation, dental X-rays, and follow-up visits. These are all part of the dental implant process and can add to your total expenditure.
Insurance and Financing Options for Dental Implants
Navigating the financial aspect of dental implants can be challenging, but you have several options to help manage the cost.
First, check with your dental insurance provider. Many insurance plans cover at least a portion of the cost of dental implants. However, coverage can vary greatly, so it’s crucial to understand the specifics of your plan. You can also reach out to our helpful staff at Midwest Dental . We’ll happily review your coverage and give you a more accurate out-of-pocket cost.
If your insurance doesn’t cover dental implants or only covers a small portion, don’t worry. Midwest Dental has financing options, including in-house financing and Care Credit. We also accept all major credit cards.
Remember, it’s important to discuss payment options with your Midwest Dental office and understand all the costs involved before deciding.
The Dental Implants Procedure
The process of getting dental implants involves several steps. It’s important to understand what to expect at each stage.
The first step is a comprehensive dental examination, including X-rays and 3D images to assess oral health and bone structure. Your dentist will also discuss your medical history and any medications you’re taking.
Next, the dentist will create a personalized treatment plan. This plan is tailored to your specific needs and considers factors like the number of teeth you’re replacing and the condition of your jawbone.
The actual implant procedure involves placing a titanium post into the jawbone, which acts as a root for the new tooth. The dentist will cover the implant with your gums to allow it to heal without the abutment and crown.
After the healing period, which can take several months, the dentist will take an impression of your teeth and send that to a lab to create your permanent crown. While you wait for the permanent crown, the dentist will install the abutment and temporary crown.
Then, continue your normal dental checkups with your Midwest Dental dentist. During these routine visits, your dentist will check the implant for any signs of wear, movement, or other issues.
Recovery and Aftercare for Dental Implants
After the dental implant procedure, some discomfort, swelling, bruising, and minor bleeding are normal. You can manage pain with over-the-counter medication or prescriptions from your dentist.
During recovery, it’s crucial to follow your dentist’s instructions, which include maintaining good oral hygiene and avoiding certain foods. Regular dental checkups will also be scheduled to monitor your healing process.
Long-Term Care and Maintenance of Dental Implants
Dental implants require the same care as natural teeth. This includes brushing twice a day and flossing daily. Regular dental checkups are also essential to ensure the health of your implants and surrounding teeth.
While dental implants are resistant to decay, the surrounding tissues are not. Gum disease can still occur, leading to implant failure. Therefore, maintaining good oral hygiene is crucial.
Remember, the longevity of your dental implants largely depends on how well you take care of them. With proper care, your dental implants can last a lifetime, providing you with a confident and healthy smile.
Affordable Dental Implants
Dental implants are an investment in your oral health and overall well-being. However, the cost can be a concern for many patients. Fortunately, Midwest Dental offers affordable dental implants near you, thanks to our various payment options.
Many dental practices offer financing options and payment plans. These can help spread the cost of the procedure over a period of time. It’s important to discuss these options with your implant dentist to understand what’s available.
In some cases, mini dental implants may be a more affordable option. These smaller implants can be a suitable choice for certain patients, depending on their specific needs and circumstances.
While cost is an important factor, it should not be the only one. The experience and qualifications of your implant dentist, as well as the quality of the implants used, are equally important considerations.

I had my 6 month cleaning and exam today, and as always Angie did a fabulous job cleaning my teeth. I love Dr. Bess the only down side is she doesnt do implants. I used Dr. Gray in the past for the implants and was seeing him when a cavity was found on a front tooth that needed fixed and a crown. After getting the crown I told them it was to short compared to my tooth on the otherside but they told me it looked fine. Well I wasn't happy about and when I returned I let Dr Gray know about it. He was very rude about it, and I will never see him again. So my next cleaning I asked for Dr Bess to be my dentist again. I told her why I didn't want to see Dr Gray ever again. She looked at it but unfortunately I have a small tooth and I risked losing the tooth if they took the crown off and redid it. I love Dr Bess and Angie Gerdes but are very professional and compassionate people. I give both of them a 5 star but no stars to Dr Gray.

First, Tonie called me up to get the process started. She was amazing as the other lady at the front desk is. Then on to the dental assistant who took xrays of my mouth. After that I met Dr. Lad as he is affectionately called. He was amazing. He was a dentist in the Navy! The next day I came back to have my teeth cleaned by Emily. I learned so much from her about my teeth and oral hygiene. Very impressed with her knowledge of dental problems and products that would help my dry mouth problem.
I need more dental implants. I've been to the oral surgeon they suggested. Overall, I am very satisfied with my decision to go to Midwest Dental. This young 69 year old would highly recommend Midwest Dental.

Glad to be here!

The staff is truly amazing. They all know me by name and take great care of me. My husband who used to hate going to the dentist actually goes without waiting for it to be an emergency. Cleanings, check-up x-rays, scans, root canal and implants available right in office.
I scheduled an appointment for tooth pain. Had some troubles with not having my new insurance information with me. The staff was understanding and helped me get everything in order. Extracted tooth, pain gone, implant coming in the future. 😁
I’ve been looking for a place like this for 5 years. Extremely thorough and offer multiple options for your problem. If you have insurance, they verify things are covered beforehand. Amazing staff! Bailey is absolutely FANTASTIC, and everyone there makes you feel comfortable…speaking as someone with a little PTSD about people messing with my teeth. I let my teeth go a few years back after some horrible dental work. It was the first major repair I’d ever had. I was misled, overcharged, and straight up lied to by this other practice. I gave up on dentistry, and my teeth got pretty bad. Finally started trying to get them fixed again, and I’ve been to so many different practices (moved here recently). Rather than pull all my teeth and do dentures or implants or 10,000 crowns (like every place I’ve been), the doctor is fixing MY teeth and making me pretty again, without all the pain and time and money that everyone else wanted. My first cleaning was life changing, and I’m so excited to be comfortable having a meal in public. God bless this place, and I’m excited to visit the dentist for the first time in 25 years. I’d give 10 stars if I was available.
