About Dr. Andrew Greenslade

Midwest Dental is introducing Dr. Andrew Greenslade to the La Crosse community. Dr. Greenslade joined the Midwest Dental office located at 20 Copeland Avenue in July 2018.

Dr. Greenslade’s story for finding dentistry as his career is not your typical one. He first received his bachelor’s degree from University of Northwestern in St. Paul, MN. After graduating he pursued an opportunity to conduct cancer research at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. “I enjoyed science and really wanted to help people which is why I took on the role at Mayo,” Dr. Greenslade said. However, he soon discovered that the behind the scenes work just wasn’t for him and that he wanted something where he could help people and see his work come to fruition.

One night while sitting at the dinner table with his wife and her family, his father-in-law asked if he had ever considered dentistry. “At this time, I hadn’t,” Dr. Greenslade said. “But I researched it a bit and realized it sounded exactly like what I had been looking for in a career.” He then enrolled in the University of New England’s College of Dental Medicine and pursued his new found dream to become a dentist.

Dr. Greenslade believes he discovered the perfect fit by choosing dentistry and also by moving to the La Crosse area. His closest friend, Dr. Torey Vande Walle who works at Midwest Dental’s Onalaska location, lives a few houses down from him now. “We have dinner once a week at each other’s houses with our families and it’s been so great to just enjoy each other’s company,” Dr. Greenslade said.

One thing that has really stuck with Dr. Greenslade his whole life is his love for the outdoors. He is originally Pine Island, MN. Growing up, his family owned a hog and crop farm. Having been a part of the farmer’s lifestyle for so long, he continues to find ways to incorporate the outdoors into his life.

Now that they have moved to La Crosse, he and his wife Lauren, are looking forward to fly fishing, going to the farmer’s market, and kayaking. “But who needs hobbies when you have dentistry?” he said. “I am so passionate about what I do and I feel very blessed to have been led into it. I feel there is a lot of integrity in what a dentist does and my goal is to always possess that trait.”
