I enjoy spending time with family and traveling whenever possible, especially visiting my son in Montana and my daughter and two grandchildren in Pennsylvania. Outside the office, I stay active through regular walks with my dog, skiing during the winter months, and pursuing a renewed interest in yoga and overall wellness. My appreciation for balance, health, and meaningful experiences carries over into both my personal life and professional approach to patient care.
My philosophy of dental care is centered on treating every patient with the same honesty, respect, compassion, and attention that I would want for myself and my own family. I believe patients deserve to feel heard, comfortable, and fully informed throughout every stage of their care.
I am committed to helping patients understand their oral health conditions, treatment options, long-term outcomes, and preventive strategies so they can make educated and confident decisions about their dental care. I ended up doing the exam and 18+ x-rays (included), and also added a cleaning, a floride treatment, and a cancer (light scan) in my mouth. Very thorough. I was very happy with all of it! I am a cash payer with no dental insurance and was excited to learn that all of these services were only $258 total at checkout. (Bonus that they also take Care Credit which gives 6 months deferred interest for 6 months on $200 for more spent in a visit.) Super happy with the services. This location is nicely, newly constructed. Staff are friendly and professional.

I called them back at nine thirty and told them how much it was hurting. Even as a new customer they were able to get me in and diagnosed the issue!! It is a cracked tooth 🦷 and they scheduled me right away to get it fixed. Thanks so much for your help!!

I had a great experience!!! The receptionist was very friendly and I was quickly in the dental chair. I felt I got a great checkup and it was in words I could understand. I have never had the dentist actually clean the tarter of my teeth!!! My teeth look and feel so great and as he used a new tool, my mouth was not sore afterwards. I was very pleased with this outcome!!! The hygienist did a great job also! I should have asked him about what I can do with the hole in my mouth since I have had 2 teeth extracted! I had a problem with a cap on one of my teeth from a previous dentist… and of course it fell off a week before I traveled to France for a month. Midwest was so great at getting me in, rushing to get the crown in on time, and getting it done before I left. It was such a relief for me, and really shows the character of the office and how they are there to help. Great team, great office.

I had such a great visit to Midwest Dental today that I wanted to update my review to reiterate how great this place is. Dr. Walker sees my 5 year old now, and she gets excited to go to her exams. I have never had a bad experience here, and I have complete trust in the team. Midwest Dental of Cedar Falls, IA, is by far the best dental experience I've had. I came in very nervous as I hadn't been to the dentist in 3+ years due to a bad experience at the last office I had been to. I needed a lot of fillings, and rather than making me feel bad, Dr. Walker and the rest of the staff made me feel very cared for and were so patient. It really means a lot to have compassionate professionals who make you feel comfortable. Dr. Walker is also quite humorous--you will not have a boring visit. I recommend Midwest Dental for everyone!

I was very disappointed with my previous dentists and decided to try this office. I cannot express enough how great this practice is! They are all so upbeat and kind. I had a temporary crown put on at Christmas time and it came off. We found glue and tried to fix the problem. I had pain in my mouth I had never experienced and Dr. was on vacation for the week. I came into the office to make an appointment ASAP and Kim actually called Dr. Spencer to talk to him and next thing I know he is coming in to see me on his vacation! Nowhere do you get that kind of service!!

My husband and I have been coming here for about a year. It had been a few years since either of us had been to the dentist. At no point were we shamed about that; they have just helped us get back on track. At my appointment today, I was told that there has been tremendous improvement in my gums since my last appointment. Yay! My husband has needed serious dental planing and 2 crowns so far. The work he's had done is beautiful! There is still plenty more to do in there, but we know he's in good hands. The Dr. is very knowledgeable and very good at what he does. Kim, in the front office, is a gem. Every time we're here, I feel like I'm visiting a friend.

First visit, so no information on the dental work, but the most extensive exam along with a great deal of information on everything happening with my teeth. Even got to see the problems and have them explained. I think I am going to have a better set of teeth with this dentist!
The dentist helped put my son's fears of cavity repair at rest. He made my son laugh during the procedure. Also, my son's hygienist was matter of fact, yet kind, when he was getting his teeth cleaned. Also, my daughter appreciated the direct, yet kind attitude with regards to her dentist related anxiety triggers. The prices are reasonable too!

I’d give Dr. Walker 10 stars if I could. If anyone has had dental anxiety in the past at other providers, I highly suggest you see Dr. Walker at Midwest Dental in Cedar Falls. I have had issues with getting numb before dental procedures for many years and other providers always blew me off. When you have to go though a crown and root canal with dental anesthetic not working, it’s kind of a big deal. Dr. Walker figured out why this was happening and was able to get me numb with no problems for my crown. It appears that I have a rare nerve anatomy and Dr. Walker discovered it. I can’t thank you enough for listening to my concerns and figuring out what the issue was. Everyone at this dental office is professional and very nice. Kim at the front desk is always very helpful with any questions that I have and Diane is a super great hygienist!

Doc Walker had the tooth extracted within minutes. You know how they say "no pain no gain." There was no PAIN. Wam bam thank you maam oh I mean Mr. Walker. They all performed their tasks well.

Recently I started having a horrible issue with TMJ and could barely open my mouth, Dr Walker took the time to diagnose the exact problem and make a splint, within a week my pain was 90% improved! After months and months of pain it was amazing! So appreciative that he took the time to listen and find the problem!

Hands down the best dentist visit I have ever had. The lady at the front desk was so happy and cheerful and made you feel welcome the second you walk in the door. The girl who did my X-rays was super nice and friendly and the hygienist was super informative and easy to talk to. She explained what she was doing and why, she even gave me a run down on the doctors lingo before he came in so I would half way understand what he was saying when he was talking to her! Dr Walker was amazing, he actually took a picture of my cavity to show me and explained his plan of action to take care of it and explained some things that I could expect in the future based on how my teeth looked today. Overall I was extremely impressed with everyone and the whole visit!

I have been with the dentist about a year now, and beside the regular check up, I had a broken tooth that 'received' a crown (a dental crown) few months ago. The whole experience has been great, and one of the aspect that I liked is that I got a detailed -out of pocket- expenses that I needed. I believe that most of the dental plan has a cap in any type of work, and knowing upfront what I need to have was very helpful to plan myself. I totally agree with other reviewer that the staff is very capable and nice.

I was in town on business and cracked a tooth in half. I went down the list of dentists near me and they were the ONLY ones to fit me in for an emergency appointment. I then explained that I needed a fix that would last at least a week as i was travelling more after i left Cedar Falls. They kept me longer, ordered me a crown and got it installed the next day without hesitation. The caring and professionalism shown by both the Doctor and his staff is unparalleled and I will go back in a heartbeat if i ever have a dental need in Cedar Falls.
