Appointment made for broken tooth. Time is critical during planting season, so I was not pleased to have to wait a day for an appointment, only to be told I had to wait a week and come back again. OTCs are working for pain. I feel there should be more attention paid to sudden on set issues.

Dr Bricker was amazing. I told her I'm autistic with sensory issues and I was really anxious. I told her that loud noises in particular are hard for me. She said I could put earbuds in if I needed. She ran all the instruments real quick so I could tell if I needed earbuds, I didn't. She told me what she was doing before she did it so I knew what was going on, what to expect, and so I wouldn't get startled by the noises. She was really understanding and offered to stop if I got overwhelmed. Amazing experience. No complaints. I will be a lot less anxious going to her.

Dr. Phams does a great job. I had 3 teeth extracted the same day and he made sure I knew every step along the way and why he was doing it. He took great care to thoroughly explain the after care to me and make sure I understood what to do. He even showed me the problem teeth and explained why he had a harder time extracting them. I love that he takes so much care making sure I know why and what is happening. The assistants are also great and friendly. They made sure I was as comfortable as possible while taking xrays and firmly reminded me why home care is so important and gave me great recommendations on how to improve it. The desk staff are also great and very transparent about what insurance will cover. They also are great at scheduling future appointments and working with outside dental places for referrals. One of the best dentists I've had.

Had a few fillings done, the hygienist was horrible at suctioning and stabbing my gums, said it was to keep my tongue out of they way. I’ve had plenty of dental work done and never experienced that. The filling process was weird and nothing any of my previous fillings were like, does it in layers so took forever. After the grinding down I didn’t notice until later how sharp he made a few of my teeth and they felt really misshapen. Worst dental experience I’ve ever had and I’ve been to a few due to insurance changes. Will not be coming back.

Beware this is a large chain of dentists offices!!! There billing is unscrupulous. They just try to drive up the bill and you end up paying out of pocket as the insurance will not pay for procedures.My recommendation is to try one of the private practices in town and give you business and money to a local resident.

I have been going to Midwest Dental in Boone for going on three years now and drive from Ames for the privilege of their services. Dr. Phams is an extremely friendly and patient guy and I'm surprised every time he remembers something about me - I never expect dentists to remember people they see every six months. With procedures he is quick, efficient, and effective, and I like how he explains what he's doing in my mouth as he goes along. They seem better equipped with modern technology than many dentists I have been to in the past as far as little gadgets and gizmos for comfort and ease of operation. The employees at the front desk/office are always great and the hygienist I'm paired with every time is an absolute joy and by far my favorite I've ever had. What can I say? I look forward to going to the dentist now and don't mind driving a bit to get there.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! First the positive, the dental assistant is AMAZING!!! She is very friendly and was very good with my son. She's the only good thing about this place. Their billing practice is very underhanded, they gave me an estimate, I understood the estimate would be close to actual cost, it wasn't. Any reputable dental office would be up front about costs, they hid the fact that my dental coverage would not cover enamel fillings. They gave me no choice, didn't tell me that I could have had amalgam fillings which my dental insurance would have covered. When asked about the discrepancy they were rude and interrupted. I have a very bad tooth ache that I had an appointment scheduled for in two days but I will suffer with the tooth ache until I can find a more honest dentist to deal with.
